Very heavily guarded in the war and inaccessible until 30 years ago this portfolio is from Bawdsey on the Suffolk coast.
Because of the long expanse of shingle beach Bawdsey was an ideal place for the Germans to land an invasion fleet. It is also the home of the first radar technology.
Today, although the sea defences are crumbling, the pill boxes and other fortifications remain. |
